Stephane Barbier Bouvet, designer,
born 1981 in Marseille, France
Stephane Barbier Bouvet studied product design at the
Ecole cantonal d’art. He lives and works in Lausanne and Marseille.
His works are sketches that have evolved into pieces of
art. For his work the use of the pieces and the different ways
the constituent materials are applied are important as is
viewing and beholding the pieces. Stephane B
arbier Bouvet’s
main concern is not aesthetic but to have his objects interact
with perceptions through their use by the observer. In this
respect terms such as ‹ experiment › and ‹ test set-up › play a
big role in his works. His works have been shown in art and
design contexts, such as in 2006 in the Eden-ADN, Biennale
internationale de design Saint Etienne, in the art space of La
Maison Rouge Paris, in 2008 during the Zoo Art Fair London,
in 2009 in Milan in the exhibition Prophets & Penitents
and in
the Museum Mudam in the exhibition The Coalition of Amateurs
in Luxembourg.
